James leads the Group’s work on green finance, with a particular focus on financial regulation, corporate sustainability reporting, and green skills.

Before joining the Aldersgate Group, James worked as a Policy Adviser at the independent environmental think tank and charity, Green Alliance. He ran their parliamentary green finance programme as well as researching and advocating on additional policy areas including green skills and just transition.

He holds a BA in Ancient History and a MSc in Anthropology, Environment, and Development from University College London, and further education from the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (University of Oxford) and Birbeck Business School.
