Caroline is Head of Environment, Health and Safety at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP.

Caroline has been an environment and health and safety lawyer for over 25 years. Caroline has worked on a number of precedent making cases and is recognised as leading lawyer by Legal 500 on the Chambers Legal Directory, and the Guide to the World’s Leading Environmental Lawyers. She is ranked as a Tier 1 practitioner by Chambers Legal Directory and is listed in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.

On environment, Caroline has extensive experience of both contentious and non-contentious environmental law. She has significant experience in urban regeneration and brownfield site projects. She advises on large development and infrastructure projects and has been involved in a number of harbourside and sustainable cities regeneration projects. Her work has involved liaison with government, relevant regulatory authorities, NGOs and lobby groups. She has a specialism in environmental indemnity insurance. She is also a leading practitioner in climate change risk and ESG issues.

On health & safety, Caroline has extensive experience of contentious and non-contentious health and safety law. In particular, she has specific experience in the oil and gas, utility, transport and construction sectors and has experience of corporate response to major accidents and incidents and occupational health and safety matters, particularly on large construction sites or around transport links. She has represented large corporate organisations facing litigation/prosecution pursuant to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007, including the potential defence of personal liabilities for officers/senior managers of the companies concerned. She also has experience of Public Inquiries and Coroner’s processes.  She is also experienced in relation to asbestos cases and industrial accidents on and offshore. Caroline also advises on a whole range of product liability and regulatory issues including global product recalls, product packaging and labelling and regulatory compliance.
