Tom is Head of External Affairs at the Aldersgate Group. He is responsible for the organisation’s external profile and engagement with politicians, civil servants, media and other stakeholders.
Leading our strategic approach towards public affairs and communications, Tom works across the Aldersgate Group’s policy programmes to increase our impact, building awareness, driving engagement and securing support for an environmentally sustainable economy.
Before joining the Aldersgate Group, Tom worked as Head of Policy & Advocacy at WWT. Tom led the organisation’s policy and advocacy on wetland-related issues with a wide range of stakeholders across Government, business and wider civil society. This included leading advocacy for the creation of 100,000ha of wildlife-rich wetlands and co-producing an award-winning short film, Spirit of Place.
Prior to this Tom worked in policy and advocacy roles at The Canal & River Trust, The Ramblers and the RSPB, as well as working at Defra, the London Borough of Camden and for Westminster MPs.
In his spare time Tom can be found on his allotment or volunteering for community raingardens.
