Increasing private investment in green infrastructure is a huge opportunity for the UK. It represents a new, growing market for the professional services industry and is a crucial way of reducing the cost of capital to meet the UK’s strategic and environmental policy objectives cost-effectively, whilst securing more jobs, exports and growth.


This event marked the launch of the Aldersgate Group’s report, Towards the new normal: increasing investment in the UK's green infrastructureBased on interviews with a wide range of businesses and investors during a year-long research project with the Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP), this report provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities in the UK’s green finance market and suggests key recommendations for government, businesses and investors to unlock the greater volumes of private investment needed to deliver the UK’s green infrastructure.
