With cities increasingly concerned about air pollution, the UK and Scottish governments recently announcing a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040 and 2032 respectively and action on climate change gathering momentum, the UK is on course for a surge in the take-up of electric vehicles and cleaner forms of transport. The Aldersgate Group and Norton Rose Fulbright co-hosted this event to explore how government policy and actions by cities can best support this transition. 

Panellists set out their policy asks from government to support and drive the rollout of EVs and low carbon transport systems in the UK and debated which infrastructure and behavioral changes are needed and what steps must be taken to prepare the electricity grid.
