HOW TO MAXIMISE THE ROLE OF TECH IN DELIVERING NET ZERO EMISSIONS

2nd July 2019

See here for the full event summary.

An Aldersgate Group event in partnership with BT & Carbon Limiting Technologies for London Climate Action Week.

It is estimated that ICT could save the UK up to 24% of carbon emissions annually in 2030. With the UK government recently announcing it will cut emissions to net zero by 2050, technology will have a key role to play in meeting this target. So where do key sectors need to decarbonise to achieve net zero and how can technology play a role in enabling the transition that will be required?

Chaired by Nick Molho, Executive Director at the Aldersgate Group, and with an introduction from Andy Wales, Chief Digital Impact and Sustainability Officer at BT, this event featured a panel of leaders from technology, the built environment, power and finance which debated the role of technology in achieving net zero emissions and how these technology solutions can be rapidly scaled up. Taking place during the first ever London Climate Action Week, the event was followed by an exhibition of various SMEs showcasing technology solutions aimed at cutting emissions in various sectors of the UK’s economy.
